Media team news and feature writers

Health Media and Sport Limited would like to hear from individuals with a background in journalism and public relations writing, as well as media students, from educational establishments across the globe.

Join our media team as a volunteer news or feature writer working either in–house or community–based.

Writers will build practical work experience and subject knowledge as part of our media team. While working at times convenient to them, writers will also help others with their coverage of health–related issues. They will also be credited as being a media team member and receive a written work reference of the time spent working as a volunteer with us.

Both UK–focused and global issues are targeted. For example, legislation, housing, education, welfare, families, senior citizens, youth, women, prisons, work and training, abuse, human rights, sport and activity.

A good command of the written English language is essential combined with access to a computer workstation with Microsoft Word application, the internet and email facilities.

At the editor’s discretion individuals will be credited as authors of their published work and listed as members of the production team.

How to apply

Applicants should provide the editor with up to 250 words on a preferred mental health issue. Writers must also name the original reference source[s] at the end of their work.

Also, include your name; position [if applicable]; organisation [if applicable]; address, country, postcode; zip; telephone number and email address.

Applicants should also provide details of qualifications, previous and current work experience, and contact details of one personal referee.
