Northern Ireland GPs: Excellent performance and high quality care ratings
The latest figures published by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety [NI] show sustained high achievement, with some 98 per cent on the points system under which the plan is conducted. The system was introduced in 2004 and was designed to remunerate general practices for providing good quality care and to help fund further work of improvement. Despite being a voluntary arrangement, QOF saw the participation of all practices in Northern Ireland during the past three years. For further information about the initiative and more detailed statistics of the results, visit the Northern Ireland Government website at: www.northernireland.gov.uk.
