G41 newspaper for Glasgow:
Journalist training school set–up for young people
A grant of £29,000 from Communities Scotland has enabled former BBC journalist David Eyre to acquire and refurbish a derelict building in Glasgow’s Southside and start–up a newspaper which is designed to help youngsters train as journalists, and one student has already had a story published in a national newspaper.
The editorial staff, with David Eyre as editor, have been granted two years free of rent to help establish the paper, known as G41, to get on its feet and to build on a readership which is already keen and growing steadily.
For fuller details of this project, telephone David Eyre on: 0141 423 7095 or email: info@southsidemedia.org.uk.
