South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust: ‘Sudsy’s’ car valeting service funds voucher rewards
Service users at Runwell Hospital in Wickford, Essex, have set–up a car valeting service which will fund vouchers for use in shops in the local community as well as vocational projects, days out, celebrations for service users and other events. Named Sudsy’s Valeting Service fully–trained service users offer jet washes, waxing, hoovering and full valet service for South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust employees and visitors to the hospital. The service operates on Tuesdays between 10am and 12pm and Thursdays and Fridays between 1pm and 4pm. Prices range from £5 for a basic jet wash for a car to £35 for a full valet for a fourxfour which includes wash, wax, dry chamoised, dashboard and interior polish, screen wash top up, hovering, window polishing and wheel rim clean. Monitor gives green lights to South Essex Trust Monitor, the independent regulator of NHS Foundation Trusts, has given South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust a green risk rating for its governance arrangements in a nine month review to 31 December 2007. NHS Trust ranked top in assessments 2008 South Essex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust [SEPT] has received the top mark of ‘excellent’ for all categories in the latest Patient Environment Action Team [PEAT] inspection for environment and food. PEAT assessment teams comprised representation from estates, facilities, nursing and catering and also included representatives from Southend MIND and the SEPT PPI [Patient and Public Involvement] Forum.
