Northumberland and North Tyneside: Local maternity services ranked in top five in England
Northumbria Healthcare's maternity units in Northumberland and North Tyneside are ranked in the top five in England for the quality of care they give to mothers and their babies, according to a recent Healthcare Commission report. For the first time mothers had their say about their local maternity units in the Healthcare Commission review. The independent watchdog gathered views about standards of care, delivery suite environment, staffing levels and the welfare of mothers and babies. The Trust also recently achieved a high score for it's assessment against NHS risk management. In doing so it has gained recognition for the high levels of safety it provides to patients.
