Five events held across the North East: Health and lifestyle workshops for primary care staff
Hundreds of health staff decided to practice what they preach at a series of lifestyle events staged across the North East of England. Darlington Primary Care Trust [PCT] and County Durham PCT organised five of the special workshops designed to boost the health and well-being of staff. Health workers were able to drop into the events held at Morton Park, Darlington, Shotton Hall, Peterlee, the Morritt Arms, near Barnard Castle, Helme Park, Crook, and St Aidan’s College, Durham. As well as a host of advice on recycling, waste management, community safety, fire prevention, infection control and health and safety, staff enjoyed sessions with Reiki and sports therapists, Indian head massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. There was also a stress–buster stand, cosmetics and makeover section, dental area and advice on diet. Staff also entered a draw to win a host of healthy prizes including a fruit basket, treadmill, X-trainer, leisure vouchers and pedometers.
