Stop smoking with Cleckheaton Health Centre: Louis kicks–the–habit with help from NHS Kirklees
Louis Pittiglio, a former 60–a–day smoker, is a champion quitter. He has not touched a cigarette for two years, thanks to the NHS Kirklees Stop Smoking Service in West Yorkshire. He first smoked at 11 years–old, along with his mates, but only took it up seriously at 15 when he left school and had more money to buy cigarettes. Now, after what seemed like never–ending battles over the years to stop, he has – with the support from a drop–in stop smoking session at Cleckheaton Health Centre. Heather Koolaji one of the Stop Smoking Service advisors, runs the early–evening drop–in session at Cleckheaton Health Centre. She said: “We are so proud of Louis. He is our star two–year quitter and is a great inspiration to others. “He and the other people who quit do it themselves by supporting one another. We provide a place to meet, information about the physiological changes they can expect, refreshments and support, such as nicotine replacement patches, for example, but they are the ones doing the work.” For further information or to speak to a qualified advisor about how to get help to quit smoking, telephone: 01484 344285 [Huddersfield] or: 01924 512079 [Batley, Dewsbury and Spenborough].
