National Alcohol Awareness Week: Think before you drink advice for Torquay shoppers
Are you thinking about your drinking? That was the question that members of Torbay Care Trust’s Primary Care Alcohol Service put to shoppers in Torquay town centre this week [Wednesday 9 April]. The event, which was held to coincide with National Alcohol Awareness Week, aimed to encourage people to take a moment to reflect on how much they drink and how to receive support from their local Alcohol Service if they have concerns. The Care Trust’s Primary Care Alcohol Service provides a single point of entry into all other alcohol services in Torbay. It can be accessed via the usual routes, such a referral from a doctor, but there is also the opportunity to self–refer via a dedicated telephone number and new website. Those who live in the Torbay area and would like to speak to an alcohol worker for information or advice, can telephone the Alcohol Team at Torbay Care Trust on: 01803 293338 between 9.30am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday.
