Department of Health funding: Cash boost for health and social care organisations
Voluntary and community care organisations around the country will share in £24 million worth of Government grants. Bereaved families are among those set to benefit since the charity Cruise Bereavement Care was awarded a £200,000 grant over three years to develop services for ex–military personnel and their families. The Department of Health's Section 64 awards will fund a total of 150 new grants and 220 continuing grants worth over £17 million for health and social care projects in England. Its Opportunities for Volunteering scheme will also award a total of £7 million to local projects that involve and encourage volunteers in health and social care.
