Drive to increase awareness:
Consultation safeguards against child trafficking
Child trafficking is not usually considered to be a serious problem in Wales, but sufficient evidence has come to light to persuade the Deputy Health Minister, Gwenda Thomas, to launch a drive intended to raise awareness of the impact of child trafficking on the country and to study the procedures available to health practitioners in recognising and dealing with suspected cases.
This move has been welcomed by the NSPCC Cymru/Wales whose representative stressed the need to support and assist the special needs of child trafficking.
